The family business that rediscovers local traditions
The winemaking tradition of the Langhe Roero and Monferrato areas is now known all over the world. Among all the wineries, some manage to stand out from the others. A perfect example is Tenuta il Nespolo, a family business that bases its success on the tradition handed down from father to son. Today, Luca Amerio runs the winery, thanks to his father’s advice and supervision. The wines are the classics of the territory, as well as the grapes; however, there are some innovations, such as Sangiovese, that are usually rare in these areas. What Tenuta il Nespolo wants to do is to make quality wines, controlling the production and concentrating on the characteristics of every single wine. They call it cognitive viticulture, and it is the result of the experience acquired over the years by the whole family and during Luca’s studies.
