Mountain viticulture in Val Camonica

Val Camonica has always been considered as the homeland of the lighter red wines, the  ones influenced by the Alps. However, there is now an entity that can deny this reputation, by producing quality red wines and white wines with elegant profiles: Rocche dei Vignali winery.

In the heart of the valley lies Rocche dei Vignali, more precisely in Losine, where the soil and the climate are ideal for a viticulture which can combine tradition and innovation. The winery was established in order to meet a collective need of union. Today, in fact, it gathers 21 members. The idea started from a small group of farmers who, in 2003, started this project of sharing a future that looks in the same direction.

The problem at the time was to find a symmetry of thought and elaboration. With Rocche dei Vignali, winegrowers for whom this world was only a side hustle, but who wished to make it into something more stable, gathered under the same roof. Thanks to the sacrifices they have made and the dedication they have put into their studies and experience in the field, today they have made their wish come true.

Rocche dei Vignali produces wines of excellent quality. Native grapes are processed in the winery of what has now become a real cooperative. In Losine, in the heart of Val Camonica, is located the organization as well as the processing of raw materials. A territory suited for viticulture, immersed in nature among fields and vineyards. However, members do not work alone, they are supported by the Mountain Community, which has seen in their work the efforts of years of hard work.

A collaboration which offers expert enologists and agronomists to control the whole production process. The result is an excellent production which boasts many awards and mentions. Wines produced by Rocche dei Vignali include five IGP (Indication of Geographic Protection): Camunnorum, Baldamì, Assolo and the white wines Coppelle and Decimo. New projects are in progress such as Ca’ della Luce wine, made from Solaris grapes, a local product characterized by high resistance and an almost total absence of phytosanitary treatments.
