Fast diets, yes or no?

Do or not do fast diets? Here you are some tips!

Autumn has arrived and has brought with it the first cold, and the first cold, you know, brings an appetite … who of you in these days does not have a voracious hunger and would eat whatever you have in mind?

So it’s easy to take a couple of extra pounds in this period, after all, the summer is over and we can afford it, right? Well … I believe that it is always better to try to maintain a balance of one’s body and try to maintain a correct balance of nutrition without depriving oneself of anything.

Certainly it’s better not to fall into the common mistake that many people make, gaining weight and then starting one of the various FAST DIETS that allow you to lose weight very quickly but then return it twice as soon as you return to normal.

The real danger lies in following them repeatedly for a long time and without any clear indication. Most people, for example, reduce carbohydrates, which on the other hand have nothing to do with our love handles, indeed! As if that were not enough, eating ad libitum all the rest (protein and fat) can lead to problems far more serious than a few extra pounds.

Then there are those people who prefer to eat everything but drastically cutting their daily calorie intake with dietary regimens of 600-800 kcal per day, which can bring results in the short term but will drastically ruin the metabolism, slowing it down! Not having food supplies, our body will go to draw energy to perform its vital functions directly from the muscles, which are the engine of our body and the boiler that burns fuel (food): without them we would find ourselves in that situation in which “I eat an apple and fatten”. Is this what you want? Is this really the solution? You will see that if you learn to eat properly, you will lose those extra kilos and you will not have to feel guilty for a dinner out!

Moreover it often happens that, if you want to get back in shape, you also start the gym: initially the muscle will add to the fat and you will see a “puffy” effect. This is the hardest moment in which you must not give in and continue to feed yourself correctly. By continuing to ingest fewer calories than you consume (but in a suitable percentage) you will continue to lose weight and the time will come when the muscle will replace the fat and then you will begin to notice the improvements and the mood will return to smile.

A correct diet is composed of carbohydrates (simple and complex), proteins of high biological value and healthy fats (oil, avocado, dried fruit and oil seeds).

Interacting books that can help you are “the body solution” and the “project nutrition”. The best thing to do, however, remains to rely, at least initially, on a professional who will explain to you how and what to eat, so that you can then be autonomous in management.

Remember that the food choices you make will affect your lifestyle!
