COL DI LAMO BRUNELLO SELECTION

Col di Lamo

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the best Italian red wines, and also has better longevity than other reds. It is made using a strict approach that provides for the use of pure Sangiovese grapes and prohibits any forcing both during cultivation and vinification.

COD: K0017P02-1 Categoria:
Brunello di Montalcino 2016 DOCG The vineyards are located in hilly areas at an altitude that varies between 250 and 300 metres above sea level. The grapes used are 100% Sangiovese, grown using the Guyot method. The bunches are harvested in boxes by hand and gently unloaded into the hopper of the destemmer. Fermentation takes place without the addition of selected yeasts, with long maceration on the marc at a controlled temperature and frequent pumping over. At malolactic fermentation the wine is racked into tonneaux and large casks for a minimum period of two years. Ageing continues in steel tanks until bottling. Alc. 14.17% Brunello di Montalcino 'Diletta' 2016 DOCG  The Brunello di Montalcino "Diletta" is named after the estate owner’s daughter. It is only produced in the best vintages. The training system is Guyot and the yield per hectare is 40 quintals. The harvest is done by hand, as is the selection of the grapes. After vinification, the product goes into a Slavonian oak barrel and rests there for more than 36 months. It is then refined in the bottle for about 6 months. "Diletta" production is extremely limited: 6,600 units per year. Alc. 14.1% Brunello di Montalcino 2015 Riserva The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, like the selection, is produced only in the best years with Sangiovese grapes (100%). The training system is Guyot. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with the use of indigenous yeasts. The wine rests for more than 36 months in large casks and, depending on the vintage, in French oak tonneaux before refining for more than a year in the bottle. This is a real rarity as only 2000 units are produced per year. Alc. 14%
