The RoadTrip#1 between the Italian wineries of Andrea Zigrossi and Gilbert Bages is about to end, the last kilometers to go remain.
Their sixth stop is in Veneto, in the splendid Valpolicella setting at the Santa Maria Valverde. The winery produces only 12 thousand bottles per year of Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Ripasso and Amarone della Valpolicella, following a very clear project on its wines based on the fragmentation of the vineyards, carried on with love for generations by the Campagnola family. Today Nicola and Ilaria – husband and wife – have the objective of producing reds deeply rooted in the territory and a unique and unrepeatable Amarone for every single year.
From deep connoisseurs of their area they have taken up the French concept of the “terroir” in Alta Valpolicella, making sure that every single piece of land is suited year after year to produce a typical and characteristic wine that only that fragmentation can produce, and the wines which are a direct proof: unique and recognized by international critics.
“In addition to making fantastic wines at Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde they have reinterpreted the concept of a winery – Andrea recounts – they have created a real boutique winery, in which the wine experience reaches peaks hard to compare” In addition to the classic visits to the cellar, in fact, alongside many different activities to bring customers to the discovery of the territory: ebike tours, truffle hunting, tastings with pairing the best local products, guided tours to discover Alta Valpolicella and more.
“Neither Gilbert nor I would have wanted to leave this place, Nicola and Ilaria are incredibly kind, they make you feel immediately at home. From all they do, a rare love and knowledge of the land shines through, leaving customers without words! “
We are shortly at the end of the journey, stay connected on Social and Kaataa to not miss the great season finale!
